A concert of traditional and contemporary music to celebrate Christmas. We are delighted that the young voices from Suttons Primary School, Hornchurch will be joining us. This will be the first time we have sung music for Christmas at St Peters Church and it will be a special concert with the church lit by candles. Havering Singers will be giving a performance of John Stainer’s well-loved setting of The Crucifixion.  In this work, Stainer has written some of the most memorable traditional hymn-tunes we shall ever hear and weaves music and words to make us pause in our busy lives and consider what happened during Holy Week. Havering Singers return to St Peter’s Church and present their Summer Soiree on 4th July 2015 at 7.30. We return to St Peter's Church, Harold Wood for our Spring 2016 concert. The programme will include Elgar - The Music Makers and Durufle Requiem. Durufle completed this work in 1947 and dedicated it to the memory of his father. An evening of music by Handel dating from the 16th century and then right up to date with music by John Rutter. The Four Coronation Anthems were composed by Handel in October 1727 for the coronation of George II.
