Summer Concert
Havering Singers return to St Peter’s Church and present their Summer Soiree on 4th July 2015 at 7.30. The programme is a mixture of traditional choral classics such as ‘Steal away to Jesus’ and ‘Deep River’ and, as a taster for our concert in the Autumn, excerpts from Mozart Requiem and Vivaldi Gloria. Autumn Concert
The programme features two popular works for soloists, chorus and orchestra and an orchestral symphony to relax and enjoy. Led by our Musical Director Keith Motson, we welcome our soloists for the evening soprano Julia Wilson-James, mezzo -soprano Freya Jacklin, tenor, Richard Dowling and bass Tom Stoddart. Music for Christmas
Let's celebrate Christmas with an evening of traditional and contemporary carols. There will be some carols where we hope you will join the choir in making merry. We are delighted that the children's voices from Suttons Primary School will be joining us for the concert. Our thanks to all those involved at the school, the Head Teacher and the parents for allowing their children to take part. Spring Concert
We return to St Peter's Church, Harold Wood for our Spring 2016 concert. The programme will include Elgar - The Music Makers and Durufle Requiem. Durufle completed this work in 1947 and dedicated it to the memory of his father. The setting we are performing tonight is for mezzo-soprano and Baritone soloists and full Organ accompaniment. Summer Soiree
An evening of relaxing music for a Summer's evening with a nod to Shakespeare. The music this evening will include the Birthday Madrigals (5 settings of Shakespeare), some Songs and Sonnets arranged by George Shearing, extracts from West Side Story and Kiss me Kate and much more. Autumn Concert
An evening of music by Handel dating from the 16th century and then right up to date with music by John Rutter. The Four Coronation Anthems were composed by Handel in October 1727 for the coronation of George II. Perhaps the most famous being Zadok the Priest.
