Autumn Concert

24th November 2018 @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

An evening of music by Handel dating from the 16th century and then right up to date with music by John Rutter.

The Four Coronation Anthems were composed by Handel in October 1727 for the coronation of George II. Perhaps the most famous being Zadok the Priest.  We are delighted that our soprano soloist for the evening, Cheryl Enever with sing the beautiful ‘Let the bright Seraphim’.

After the short interval, we will sing John Rutter’s Magnificat. The work was completed in 1990 and is a musical setting of the biblical canticle Magnificat.

The choir will be lead by our Musical Director Jonathan Rathbone   and the organist will be Jonathan Lilley (Musical Director at Waltham Abbey Church).
