The programme features two popular works for soloists, chorus and orchestra and an orchestral symphony to relax and enjoy. Led by our Musical Director Keith Motson, we welcome our soloists for the evening soprano Julia Wilson-James, mezzo -soprano Freya Jacklin, tenor, Richard Dowling and bass Tom Stoddart.
The evening starts with Mozart Symphony 29, written by the musical genius when he was just 18 years old. This piece is a symphonic and historic epiphany, whether you’re seven years old or 107. Enjoy.
Vivaldi, Gloria has wonderfully distinctive melodies and themes characteristic of Vivaldi’s music, giving it an immediate and universal appeal.
The concert culminates with the Requiem, Mozart’s choral masterpiece. From the dramatic Kyrie to the triumphant Dies Irae and the stirringly beautiful Lacrimosa, this exceptionally moving work is a fitting conclusion to a wonderful evening of music.
We are grateful to Sue Catmur for arranging the orchestra and our thanks to David Banting and the Church Wardens for allowing us to perform at St Peter’s Church, Harold Wood.
